Licensing & qualifications
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. ATX Handyman is licensed and insured for the work performed. Proof of insurance is available on request.
Who actually does the work?
The same crew handles every job, from a single TV mount to a full remodel — no subcontracted strangers showing up on install day.
Are there jobs you don’t handle?
Yes. Work that requires a specialized state license we don’t hold — major electrical panel work, gas line work, or a full plumbing re-pipe, for example — is referred out to a licensed specialist rather than attempted in-house. Everyday fixture swaps, repairs, and the services listed on this site are all within scope, and we’ll always tell you upfront if something falls outside it.
How experienced is your crew?
Every job is handled by the same hands-on crew working across TV mounting, handyman repairs, remodeling, garage doors, and outdoor kitchens every week — not a rotating cast of unfamiliar subcontractors. If we’re ever bringing on extra hands for a bigger project, that’s communicated to you upfront.
Scheduling & job policies
How is pricing determined?
Every job is quoted upfront by phone or text before any work begins. TV mounting starts at $100 and garage door installation starts at $300. Handyman jobs, epoxy garage floor coatings, remodeling projects, and outdoor kitchens all vary too much for a flat starting price, so those are quoted upfront based on the details — remodels and outdoor kitchens typically after a free in-home walkthrough.
What do I need to have ready?
Clear access to the work area and a working power outlet nearby. For larger remodels, the space should be cleared of furniture and personal items unless otherwise arranged.
Can I reschedule my appointment?
Yes. Call or text 512-233-8668 as soon as you know you need to move your appointment, and we’ll find a new time — as much advance notice as possible helps keep your new slot close to your original one.
Do you supply the materials, or do I?
For most handyman and TV mounting jobs, standard hardware and mounting materials are included in the quoted price. For remodels, garage doors, epoxy floors, and outdoor kitchens, materials are sourced as part of the project and itemized in your quote — you’re always welcome to supply your own materials instead, and the price is adjusted accordingly.
Do I need to be home during the job?
For most jobs, yes, or at least reachable by phone. For larger projects where access has been arranged in advance, we can sometimes work independently — this is confirmed with you when scheduling.
What if weather delays my job?
Outdoor work like garage doors, epoxy floors, and outdoor kitchens can be affected by weather. If a job needs to be pushed, you’ll hear from us as soon as possible to lock in the next available slot.
Is there a travel fee outside South Austin?
No extra travel fee within the greater Austin metro service area listed on this site — Kyle, Buda, Round Rock, Cedar Park, and the surrounding areas. If you’re further out than that, just ask when you call.
Do you pull permits for larger jobs?
For remodels and other work that requires a permit, that’s coordinated as part of the project and discussed upfront during your quote, before any work begins.
Payment & deposits
Do you require a deposit?
Most jobs — TV mounting and handyman repairs — are paid in full at completion, once you’re satisfied with the work. Larger projects, including full remodels and custom outdoor kitchen builds, require a deposit to schedule and secure materials, with the balance due at completion. The deposit amount is confirmed as part of your upfront quote.
When is payment due?
Payment for standard jobs is due at completion. For deposit-based projects, the remaining balance is due when the work is finished.
What payment methods do you accept?
Cash, check, and all major credit and debit cards are accepted for every job.
Refund & cancellation policy
What if I need to cancel before work starts?
Any deposit paid is fully refunded if you cancel before work begins.
What if I’m not happy with the work?
Once work has started, payments for work already completed are non-refundable — but if anything isn’t done right, we’ll come back and fix it at no additional charge until you’re satisfied.
What if I need to cancel after work has already started?
Once work has started on a project, payments for the portion of work already completed are non-refundable, since materials have been purchased and time has been committed. Any unused deposit beyond the work actually performed is returned to you.
Your home & your privacy
Will you protect my home during the job?
Yes — floors and furniture near the work area are covered as needed, and the space is cleaned up before we leave.
Do you take photos of my home for your website?
Sometimes, with your permission. Photos are only used for the website and marketing with your OK, personal items and identifying details are kept out of frame, and you can ask us not to at any time — before, during, or after the job. See the Privacy Policy for more detail.
